Subject	suggestions and wood finishing help with my "custom" Z logo

Message	I am making a 3 dimensional Z logo for my hatch area, to go with my stereo setup after I change it around. I started making it out of wood today. I want to give it a silver plastic/metal look. So what is the best way to do this? I would guess, sand, and get it as smooth as you can, then what kind of painting process should it go though, to make it look nice? Your help is appreciated. Then I might add lights to it, to make it stand out at night. here it is: for size reference: I have a 2+2, and this is what I want everything to look like when its done, nothing fancey, but better than it is. The dots on the Z are where I might want to put lights, sunk into the logo, not really visible when not lit. Picture not drawn to scale: thanks
